The Holidays are at once inspiring, enlightening…and tiring! For us, as a family of five, it means travel, entertaining, packing…and basically a lot of work. My wife has a wonderful lexicon for these kinds of things — she clearly differentiates a ‘trip’ from a ‘vacation.’ In essence, a ‘trip’ is where you pack up all the
baggage you have at home — the sibling fights, the family squabbles, the high maintenance of children, pets, cooking…whatever. Basically, day to day life…just somewhere else. A vacation, on the other hand, is something completely relaxing — no issues — nothing to worry about.
The Thanksgiving sojourn no doubt will be a trip.
Regardless, I am looking forward to seeing my brothers, sister & Mom. And wine will be a big part of the ‘trip’.

Lots of Wine Required!
I’m not saying we need to drink a lot to ‘deal with’ family dynamics during the Holidays — but it doesn’t hurt. Have a great Thanksgiving…whether you are taking a trip, enjoying a vacation, or staying at home. And as always, drink charitably!
