The message of change is everywhere and there seems a world-wide sigh of relief coupled with a palpable
optimism unlike any I’ve seen in a long time. The internet has shrunk the world. A close friend of mine texted his play by play of the election while drinking Moet in a bar in Shanghai. Another from Australia. And yet another from Spain. Wow.
This instantaneous sharing of an emotion, of an event, of just about anything has inspired this week’s Humanitas Haiku:
Barack Obama
I think the message is clear
We can change the world
Again, shamelessly self promoting — this is why I started Humanitas winery — I fundamentally believe that change is in the hands of the individual. And when enough individuals start acting…and doing good things, it is infectious. In my case, it was by creating a winery dedicated to making honorable wines, and giving the profits back to charities in the communities where the wine is purchased. Fundamentally, I believe the wine industry can make the world a better place…one sip at a time. Yes, we can.
